ABOUT NSQC

NSQC™ National School Quiz Championships™ is a televised academic sport which is open to every school in the world. It was given birth in South Africa as an Ian P. Concept in 2009 and further established in 2011 as a pilot television series crowning its inaugural national champions, Victoria Park High of Eastern Cape in 2014. NSQC™ was founded on the ethos of school spirit with its global vision of encouraging and celebrating academic excellence throughout the world.

 

WHO CAN REGISTER

Any primary, secondary or high school can register its team of 4 students (grade 6 - 7 and 9 -12) and an accompanying teacher. A school can register a maximum of two teams. Registration fee is U$150 per team for 2018 World Series Challenge.

 

PRIZES

NSQC™ awarded over R5.6million in scholarships during the past 3 tournaments and currently has Pearson Institute of Higher Education as its hosting partner for the regional championships awarding scholarships for 3 year degree programs to the winning team of 4. The bi-annual NSQC™ World Series boasts a cash prize of R100 000.00 to the winning school and its team members.  

 

CONTENT MATERIAL

The tournaments and preliminaries draw its curriculum based content into the following quiz categories, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCES, TECHNOLOGY, GENERAL KNOWLEDGE and GET TO KNOW AFRICA section. Each question is worth 10 points and the highest scoring teams proceed to the next round. Teams go through preliminaries in their respective countries to qualify for the Regional Championships and eventually into the NSQC™ World Series.

REGISTER

 

Schools are encouraged to register their teams for the World Series Challenge preliminaries to stand a chance to qualify into the prestigious historical and groundbreaking first NSQC™ World Series 2018. Registration opens 15 January – 28 February 2018 at U$150 per team. Late registration will be U$300 per team closing 30 March 2018.
